Description

Stephen & Trupti’s stunningly picturesque home is situated on the bank of Ganga, in the middle of the forest, flanked by a stream. It’s an ultimate place for someone who loves to be absorbed in nature. This is  place where  people   can   come  to   relax ,   rejuvenate,   meditate,   paint,   read,  write,   trek   around, rediscover oneself  or simply  to practice the art of  doing nothing......A  lovely  place to  spend time sitting next to Ganga, have a swim  or  for  the more adventurous ones can go white water rafting or  jump   from  our   famous   jumping  rock!    It is a great place for yoga and spiritual retreats to be held. There are many lovely spaces in & around this house to choose from to settle & do your own thing.  You can spend hours sitting down by the mesmerizing river Ganga, watching the beautiful swirling currents & whirlpools. Enjoy the waterfalls & natural Jacuzzis too..... All food served is simple and vegetarian, Indian and Western. The furniture here is all Fab India. Meditation & Yoga classes by host. About Location

Rishikesh is just 24 Kms from Haridwar. Located in the laps of lower Himalayas, this place is considered to be the access point of three other pilgrim places of Badrinath - Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri the four great places which combine to make Chardham . Rishikesh is surrounded by scenic beauty of the hills on three sides with Holy Ganga flowing through it.

The whole place is considered to be sacred as it is believed that meditation at this place leads to attainment of salvation. There are many temples-some ancient, some new along the river Ganges. The River side is dotted by the ashrams of Sadhus and sages. Rishikesh is also famous for ashrams teaching Yoga.

In the 60's even the Beatles could not miss the charm of Rishikesh and they came here to meet their Guru. The Ganga, which is known for its strong currents and fierce behaviour up stream, suddenly becomes slow and gracious here. At Rishikesh, Ganga leaves the mountains and joins the plains for her long journey.

Rishikesh is not only an attraction for pilgrims but it also attracts foreigners who want to know about Hinduism, who want to spend some time close to the Lord, people who love rafting come here to conquer the rapids of Ganga. Rishikesh is also an ideal base camp for trekking in the nearby Himalayas.Rishikesh encompasses all the aspects of commercial and communication hub, places like Muni-Ki-Reti, Sivananda nagar the temple side of lakshman jhula and number of different asrams makes the city as a valuable place to our culture and the World Capital of yoga.

Testimonial

Our family of 4 found it extremely peaceful and relaxing compared to other hotels in town. It had by far the best chai tea we found in our 2 months traveling through northern India - each cup made individually! The setting was beautiful with boulders to jump off of into the Ganga. We enjoyed the walks into town along the banks of the river and just hanging out in the forest by the river. Friendly owner and clean, modern rooms. Trevor - USA

I stayed with my wife and daughter for 2 days. The place is really wonderful, interriors are ethinically decorated giving a lttle bit rustic feeling. Simplicity adorned with great refreshing natural environment. The entire area including rooms and bathroom are very clean and everything has been given a personal touch. The property is next to a beautiful watefall the music (sound) of which keeps you busy.  All the staffs are very nice, courteous and always ready to help.Food provided by them is simple but awesome. On vacation, I have never got better and more tasty food at any other place than here. A portion of the cafeteria has open space from where you can watch flowing ganges while having your food.Few tips for visitors - (1)The area is alcohol free and food is strictly vegeterian (2) You will have to walk down on foot from road (we enoyed even it) therefore not suitable for very old and arthrititis (3) No telivision and phoe in the room (consciously not provided) (4) No room service but staff can provide the meals in room if you request but avoid it as it will mean taking advantage of their helping attitude. If in word I have to describe this place it is "EXCELLENT". Looking forward for another oppurtunity to visit again.Vikram - Gurgaon

My sister, daughter and her boyfriend stayed at the Guesthouse for 3 nights in February and we would have loved to stay there longer as this place is a little gem. We immediately relaxed in the simple but well thought through accommodation and enjoyed the wonderful views of the River Ganges, which flows at the bottom of the garden. Really. The owner, Steve is welcoming and enormously helpful.. He helped us sort out all the things we wanted to including walks, kayaking , and trips into the nearby towns and villages. It was a very welcome break and now, when I look back on a memorable trip to India, it is our stay here that holds the fondest memories.John A - Oxford - UK

the path from the main road to the resort needs to be done up.Avinash Sahay - Mumbai
