An eight ensuite bedroom cottage in Kasauni is the perfect place to let your gaze wander over the Himalayas, drink in the sight of the rising and drowning sun or simply enjoy the expressions of clouds as they glide over the Himalayan peaks.  The scenic splendour of this lovely hamlet leaves one spell bound with panoramic views of the mighty peaks of Panchauli, Nanda Devi and Trishul.  Situated at an altitude of about 1890 meters above the sea level, this hill station will not offer a plethora of activities or a pulsating Mall Road. But the view, vistas and vacation that this town and this cottage in Kausani has to offer are no match for any other.

The most endearing feature of this home stay in Kasauni is the uninterrupted views of the mighty Himalayas from each and every room. Four rooms on the ground floor lead into the garden while the remaining floor rooms of the first floor have balconies and sit-outs. All the eight rooms are spacious, clean, featuring modern amenities and clean and large bathrooms. You can sip your tea, read a book, create your masterpiece or simply take a nap in these wondrous surroundings.

The experience of this stay is enhanced by the attentiveness of the Kasauni cottage staff. A whole lot of indoor and outdoor games are provided to keep the kids and adults busy. Add to that the simple food that is created by chefs who know their meats and veggies. The small restaurant may not appeal to some, but the dishes coming out of the kitchen will appeal to all and can be easily enjoyed in the huge, lush garden or in the rooms. A small organic garden at the back lends freshness to the dishes rustled up in the kitchen.

This hotel in Kasauni offers the perfect idyllic background for a holiday in the hills. It’s a perfect idle setting for those tired of hectic city lives. It’s a perfect holiday destination for those looking to catch up with friends and family. It’s the perfect home stay for long peace and tranquil holidays.

About Location

Kausani is located 52 km north of Almora. There are very few places in the Himalayas that can compare with the beauty of Kausani - a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendour and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. Kausani lies atop a ridge at an altitude of around 1890 m amidst dense pine trees overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other on Almora-Bageshwar-Didihat Highway. Mahatma Gandhi called this place the 'Switzerland of India', due to similarity in landscape. Courtesy - Wikipedia

                                                     Kausani Sightseeing
Anasakti Ashram: It is also known as Gandhi Ashram. Anasakti Ashram was built to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi who visited this place in 1929 and described it as the ‘Switzerland of India’ after falling in love with its pristine beauty. It is here that he wrote his treatise Anasakti (‘detachment’) Yoga. The ashram is well stocked with books and photographs of Gandhi’s life. There is a small prayer room in this ashram where prayers are held every morning and evening.

Rudradhari Waterfall:The Rudhadhari falls is a natural attraction here and many ancient caves are explored nearby areas. The puranic stories relate this place with Lord Shiv (Rudra) and Lord Vishnu (Hari). The Shiv Temple at Someshwar is situated close to the waterfalls. These magnificent waterfalls can be viewed while trekking to Adi Kailash region in the hill station of Kasauni.

Lakshmi Ashram/Sarla Ashram:It is also known as Sarla Ashram. Catherine Hillman, a disciple of Gandhi who came to be known as Sarlaben founded this ashram in 1964 which overlooks the beautiful Kosi Valley. Several skills like growing vegetables, cooking, caring for the animals and cleaning are taught to over 70 orphaned poor girls and woman who live in the ashram. Lakshmi ashram is located in a quiet place up the hills which lends a serene atmosphere to the ashram.

Sumitranandan Pant Gallery: The renowned hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant was born in Kausani. Sumitranandan Pant Gallery was built to commemorate Sumitranandan Pant. The gallery houses hundred of English and Hindi books in glass cabinets. A poetry symposium is organized here every year to mark the poet’s birth anniversary.

Kausani Tea Estate: Kausani is also famous for its several tea gardens and pear orchards. Girias Uttaranchal tea is produced in 208 hectares of tea plantations near Kausani. You can have somebody guide you through the factory showing you the tea garden, how tea is manufactured in the estate. This high-flavored tea is exported to Australia, Germany, Korea and the US.

Other offbeat tourist attractions near Kausani are: Jain Ki Dhai, Aku Binsar, Aredeo, Pandukholi & Kukucheena, Maha Avatar Baba Cave - Yoganand Society, Bhitinashwar, Gannath, Rudradhari Temple & Waterfall, Koshi Mool - Origin of Kosi River, Birchuya or Mini Bugyal - Green Grassland, Gopal Kot

Super, fantastic, marvelous. Best in all ways, be it the Location/view, rooms, hospitality of staff and food.8 rooms two storey property, all rooms facing the mighty Himalayas. Sit back and relax. They will arrange the bon fire if you request. Enjoy it while watching the 180 degrees view of the Himalayan ranges and night sky full of stars. If you have telescope then this is the perfect place.Of course all of the above if weather remains clear.Pramod Indoria - New Delhi

We stayed here in the cusp period when season was just about to begin (end of March and beginning of April). We wanted a nice quiet holiday and this place completely fit the bill. We stayed on the first floor. The rooms are spacious and clean. The balcony is a long corridor and faces the valley. There is a spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges right from the balcony. In fact the sunrise can be viewed from the balcony and is a breathtaking experience. We had a lovely time soaking up the sun and taking in the view at various times in the day. There are some pleasant walks that you can go on. There is a school right opposite the property and it was fun watching little rosy cheeked kids trudging up the hill very sincerely with their books. The staff, especially a boy named Mukesh, was very courteous and attended to our every need. The owner of the hotel is a local lad and very enterprising and honest. The food was average and the owner apologised profusely for this saying the cook had gone home for Holi. This is just the place for someone who prefers a quiet holiday...There isn't much to do here and that is what we enjoyed the most.Priya - New Delhi

This cottage has just 8 rooms, 4 each on ground & first floor and is around 1.5 Km from the so called mall road of Kausani. One shouldn't compare Kausani with Nainital or Manali. Its small small town in the Kumaon region, far away from all noise, a place to relax & be with nature.Mr. Negi & his staff is very helpful and try to help you in best possible manner. Rooms are cosy having full glass on one side from which one can see sunrise. Bathrooms are clean & big with geyser. Small garden around hotel where children can play cricket & badminton. Kumaon food served was tasty, but same is not true about punjabi food.  Complimentary breakfast served was tasty with choice of Parathas, Poori Bhaji, choice of eggs, bread, tea/coffee.We have booked 5 rooms. On check-in we found flooring of one room was dirty. We informed hotel staff who swiftly arranged for cleaning. We couldn't see himalayan range due to smog. Ravindra inform us that best time to enjoy this is from October to March. There isn't much to do in Kausani. You can enjoy small treks apart from visiting Anasakti Ashram. We will recommend this hotel for best views, good sleep quality & excellent service.Manohar Sathe - Mumbai

I mean It. It has to be one of the best place to stay in Kausani. Please dont go for size.. it has only eight rooms 4 in the GF and 4 in the FF. The FF rooms are Delux and the FF rooms are Super Delux. And the best thing you shall get a clear view of the snow clad peaks like i.e is Nanda Devi, Trishul, Panchachuli ect.You wont feel as if you are staying in hotel. you shal feel you are in your own home. the type of treatment you get. Food is excellent. I can bet. .I had never had such a great Butter chicken in my life. It is great Value for money. please go for a meal combo plan. i.e BF+ one Mean along with stay and i am assuring you shall not is very clean and neat. No much complication. Best thing you can see the sun Rise and sunset both from your room as the room has big clean glass window. Location is also Awsome and you cannot expect to have a better location. Please see the village light in the night from the balcony towards the valley side. you shall remember the view for the life time.lastly the Staff -Very good and very friendly. specialy Mr. Negi Great person he is. andf the Cheff as young boy.
