Anil's home is a beautiful mountain homestay (hill side retreat) nestled in the serene, heart-warming lush green environs of Munnar, away from the madding crowd. The rooms are very comfortable, with excellent hot water shower, large windows, and other amenities. The high point, though, is definitely the family. They are generous, thoughtful, and extremely kind and helpful. This homestay combines the comfort and distinction of a boutique hotel with the personal hospitality and informality enjoyed when staying with family friends. A perfect experience to invigorate one's senses and admire Munnar for what it is... provide travelers with an authentic and value for money alternative to hotels. You will always receive a warm welcome, food and hospitality, which cannot be experienced from a normal run-off-the-mill holidaying. Jeeva is a fabulous cook, and there's probably no reason to eat anywhere else. The hosts are extremely accommodating. If you are into trekking, then Anil is a mine of information and will be delighted to take you on a trek of some length through gorgeous country side scenery.

Awaken to the sounds of exotic birds heralding sunrise each day, go for an early morning jog along the tranquil forest trails past dew-drenched flora  and towering trees, take a moment to observe the macaques in action, swing from branch to branch, close your eyes and your mind and body seem to switch to meditation mode effortlessly draining away your pent-up emotions and tensions. guest rooms are on the first floor which offers a panoramic view of hills   and plantations, looking mystic in the morning as the mist rolls through them - Terrace balcony looking out onto the view, meals can be served up here.

Message from the host: This particularly close knit family with two children aged 6 and 12, are incredibly hospitable, welcoming guests as part of their   own family, whilst allowing the guests as much independence as they desire. The separate area of the guests’ rooms occupies the top floor, with an upstairs terrace which looks out onto the valley and hills extending into the distance. Meals are offered either on the terrace upstairs (a particularly nice place for breakfast), or in the family dining room. The personalized service is constantly apparent; they are happy to give out recipes for any meals guests have particularly enjoyed . A quiet and idyllic family life is enjoyed at this Homestay, a perfect setting for guests coming to explore the beautiful landscape and refreshing climate of Munnar.Stay here assures complete relaxation of the mind and body.which you will cherish for the rest of your life.

About Location

Munnar is a beautiful hill station, and was the summer resort of the British. Tourists come here to see the vast tea plantations of the area. The town itself is typically Indian with the usual shops, guest houses and is really beautiful and traditional. It is a good place to stay to see the surrounding countryside. It is also a popular place for Indian honeymooners.

The region in and around Munnar varies in height from 1,500 m (4,921 ft) to 2,695 m (8,842 ft) above mean sea level. It is pronounced "Moon-aar" short for "moonu aar" meaning 3 rivers. Three rivers - Madupetti, Nallathanni and Periavaru which flow through this town, but join some distance away from Munnar.

Munnar is famous for its tea plantations, many of them started by the British. The "Kannan Devan" brand of Tea from the Tata is cultivated and processed here.

The strobilanthus ("neelakurinji" in Malayalam, the local language), a blue flower which blooms only every 12 years, is found in this region. It bloomed last in December 2006. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, at 2,695 m.

Eravikulam National Park is one of the main tourist attraction, where you can find the endangered species of Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goat called "varayadu" in Malayalam). A trek to Rajamala ("King of hills" in Malayalam), in the morning is sure to spot a few friendly mountain goats. You can also find Gaur, Langur, Lion-tailed macaque, and Elephants depending on the season and time of travel. The altitude is 1,600-1.800 m above sea level. Temperature ranges from a minimum of 0⁰C to a maximum of 28⁰C. Warm clothes and rain gear is recommended. The tourist season is from August to March.
