If you are looking for a commercially garish and loud place, bustling to the brim with porters, chauffeurs, cleaner and housekeeping staff....this one's not for you. Lourenco and Annie’s guesthouse is small haven, with its 6 rooms and friendly family atmosphere where you can switch off from the outside world and totally relax. This guest house is a huge and very well kept bungalow in a very quiet neighborhood and if one is looking of relaxation, this is the place to be.

The rooms are bright and spacious, each with a small sitting area and balcony, stacked fridge and safety lock-up and kept spotlessly clean on a daily basis, with fresh flowers in the room every other day. The dining area is situated in the beautiful tropical gardens and there is a good selection of Breakfasts to tempt you - all freshly prepared by Freddie. The gardens surrounding the property are nicely kept and lush. By the time you leave you have also become part of the family.

This place is a gem. Located on a quiet street near Sinquerim close to the beach and the great restaurants of Candolim. It is only a 10 minutes’ walk to Sinquerim beach and a 5 minutes taxi ride to Candolim beach. They also have FREE WiFi. Just request them, and they will turn the router on for you.

Nearby the homestay is the world famous Fort Aguada. It's a 5 minute walk down to the Fort (where they have a few water sports activities, and gorgeous sunset views!). There's an awesome biking trail around Candolim village, and this guesthouse is right in the heart of it. In case you like to buy your alcohol and groceries outside the hotel, there are many shops just down the road. Although, the staff can also get them for you.

Owners are very nice and are always attentive to guests' needs and requests. You do not need a guide book with Lourenco around!!! The owners have a well-researched directory of organizers of all sorts of activities, car rental agencies, and sightseeing tour planners (read 'they know them all personally - the owner grew up with most of these they are extremely reliable!) The owners visit the fish market (and get great prices, which they pass down to you) All alcohol served at Bougainvillea is a market mark-ups!)

Rail : Margao Railway Station: Driving Time: 85 minutes. Reaching Goa by train is easy from Mumbai (490 km), Bangalore (430 km), and Delhi (1874 km). Goa's two main stations are at Margao and Vasco da Gama.

Road: Goa is well connected, by a network of roads and national highways, with all the major cities in India.

About Location

A rich amalgam of Portuguese and Indian influence has ensured continuance of its cultural heritage in India. Many Goans are Catholic and you'll meet lot of Portuguese speaking locals (whose family names are similar to those in Portugal) whose ancestors were converted to Christianity, often by force. Dotted among the palm groves and rice fields are graceful villas bearing European coats of arms and imposing mansions with wrought iron gates built not only for European well to do but also for the Brahmins who earned the right to own land. Over the past several years, Goa has traversed far from the hippie culture.

Now,well heeled Indians frequent the new rush of upscale international style restaurants and design conscious furniture and lifestyle outlets.Joining them are the foreign nationals who come to indulge in the rather commercialized trance culture, and Indian youngsters who cruise from beach to beach, legs wrapped around flashy motorbikes with their cargo pants loaded with money power.
