Description

A beautiful heritage home in Cherthala, just 45 minutes drive from Cochin and 30 minutes from Alleppey. Anthraper Gardens offers you the experience of elegant traditional living in an atmosphere of age old charm. The home is surrounded by water on three sides with a private boat jetty and a sprawling garden. The homestay building is 75 years old, well maintained in a 2 acre plot surrounded by backwaters on three sides. A veranda runs around the building with a view of the backwaters. The property is well landscaped with 6000sq ft of lawn, varieties of fruit trees and coconut palms. A very quiet and picturesque place with a spacious and well manicured garden. Away from the hustle & bustle of the city, it is an idyllic place to unwind and rediscover oneself.

All rooms have a view of the backwaters and decorated in old world style. Vibrant and elegant, with a dramatic view of Vembanad Lake the Anthraper Gardens Home Stay is a vantage point from where you can explore the sights, sounds and experiences around you. Extra bed can be arranged on request.

About Location

Cherthala is a town located in the district of Alappuzha, in the state of Kerala, India. It is located 30 km south of the city of Kochi and 22 km north of Alappuzha town, on the Kochi-Alappuzha streatch of both the National Highway 47 as well as the costal Rail-route. The town is well known after the Karthyayani Devi temple, located in the center of the town. Two more sub-temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu are also located on the northern side of the main temple. A sub-temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, also known as Kaavudayan and another dedicated to Kshethrapalakan believed to be Devi's temple caretaker are located on the southern corner of the main temple.

The nearest airport is the Cochin International Airport, about 50 kilometers northwest, and the nearest seaport is Cochin Harbour about 36 kilometers northwest of the town.
