Description

This is the place you should choose if you want to gaze at the tall Himalayas or white clouds drifting just a bit beyond your windows. This is the place for families looking to reignite their vows of togetherness as they sip hot cinnamon tea. This is the place to trek along for nature walks, try out bird watching or reacquaint oneself with hobbies. This is the place to be if you are looking to challenge yourself by going for a trek that locals believe city dwellers are not capable of!

We could go on, but let us introduce you to this place, a newly-constructed cottage nestled in the hills. It may be set in a rural background, but the landscaped garden, well-appointed bedrooms with attached modern bathrooms, luxuriant living areas and spacious balconies all offer classy urbanity. Ramgarh Bungalow Retreat, as it is called, throbs with a life of its own.

The retreat is situated in Ramgarh, a rural village in the Kumaon hills, 24 kilometers from the township of Bhowali, on the road leading to Mukteshwar. Nainital is a mere 45 minutes drive from the cottage, distance of 34 Kms.It will give you peace and solitude when you return from short trips to enjoy exotic lakes, fun-filled boat rides, or just the regular tourist crowd of Bhimtal, Saattal and Nainital.

The service and hospitality offered by the staff will hold your heart forever. The food is freshly sourced, cooked to suit your taste buds and is absolutely delicious. Food options are offered with such enthusiasm and created with such perfection that guests will prefer an extra hour of exercise rather than halt the taste sensations!

All in all, this is a holiday cottage that is best suited to the needs of the busy professional who needs to remind himself or herself that thumb dwindling is an important part of life! Something to do and everything to gain is the motto of this cottage. This is not the place for people who are looking for an adventure packed or a busy weekend, but for those who admire the serenity and silence of the hills. Saat taal, Bhimtal, Nainitaal, and Mukteshwar are at comfortable driving distance.

About Location

Ramgarh is a small hill station and tourist destination on the way to Mukteshwar in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. This place is rich in orchards. An unobstructed view of the snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas from this place can be seen. The place was once the cantonment of the English army. The famous poets Rabindra Nath Tagore and social worker Narain Swami had established their ashrams over here. There is also a library dedicated to famous writer Mahadevi Varma, who got the idea of writing Lachma, the famous story, in Ramgarh.

Ramgarh is also known as the "Fruit Bowl of Kumaon" owing to its verdant orchards of Peach, Apricots, Pears & Apples. It comprises two parts - Malla, located on an elevation and Talla, located downhill.

There are also nearby places like Hartola and Nathuakhan, all accessible from Nainital and Bhimtal Courtesy Wikipedia

Had a great time at Ramgarh Cottage. Wished had more days to spare. Very friendly owners  and staff, attention to detail. Awesome location on top of a hill. Would love to come back again during the winter season to experience the snowfall firsthand. Ritesh Varshney - Bangalore

We were at this beautiful cottage just for a few days with our full gang of close friends. We had amazing experience there with full privacy as the complete cottage was at our disposal. The location is great with nice view of Himalayas and forest in the back. Some short treks are there in nearby places. You can also visit Mukteshwar too 45 minutes drive. I would strongly recommend this place. Anjana Sachar - Pune

A chance booking over the internet led to a wonderful holiday in Ramgah. Words do not do justice to this luxurious cottage. While there are many great places to stay across the hills, this is the one for those looking to unwind. Situated away from the maddenning crowd, its the perfect place to view the magnificient Himalayas over endless cups of chai and bask in the sun. Well appointed rooms and excellent hospitality also add to the experience. So, if you're looking for a place to stay in Ramgarh, look no further.Romi Verma - Ludhiana

This was one of mesmerising journeys that we had. It was a new dawn to the year and what could be better than with snow flurries and warn fireplace . Driving to Mukteshwar from Ramgarh is awesome. Rock climbing on Chauli ki Jali is heroic experience. View of five peaks of Himalaya (i.e Nanda Devi Peak, Trisul etc.) from Mukteswar temple is astonishing. Sameer Kaul - Mumbai

Very unlike a resort or hotel feeling ...a home away from home... the food was cooked as per a choice and liking.... we could go for long treks .... and spend the evening sitting out on the terrace.. I loved the collection of books... Neeraj Kumar - Gurgaon

Well, there is nothing as such which needs improvement. However, the food quality may be improved a bit, like the white bread in the breakfast is not good. I will still say overall it's value for money. Food again, chicken dish for both nights is good but a change to, may be mutton or fish would make things even better. Very good place, good staff...Digit Saikia - Delhi
